RANA Labs

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

This policy applies to the apps, websites and services offered by RANA Labs (together, the "Services"). What we process depends on how you use our Services and which features you choose.

Summary

  • We do not sell personal data, show third-party ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
  • We collect only what a feature needs, and much of it stays on your device.
  • Card and payment details are handled by our payment partners and app stores, never by RANA Labs.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time.

1. Who is responsible

RANA Labs is the controller of personal data processed through the Services. Contact: [email protected]. If you use a RANA Account, the RANA Account privacy policy also applies to your account.

2. Data we process, depending on how you use the Services

Device and app information

Our apps may process technical information such as device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, install time, usage dates, network status, notification settings, a push notification token, recent errors and your country (derived from your network). Some apps work without registration and create a user ID for your device. To protect the Services against misuse, an app may use device identifiers, only for security and abuse prevention. Some features may process your IP address and the approximate area derived from it to keep connections working and prevent abuse.

Location

Location is used only if you allow it, and you can choose approximate instead of precise location. Location-based features keep your places and settings on your device and request data for the area you choose; our servers do not store your precise location. If you agree to share your location during a support session, it is used only for that session and only a general area name may be kept.

Calls, voice and images

  • When you use a support call feature, we process the call time and duration, your request, notes, your rating and a recording of the call. Recording is announced at the start of the call, and recordings are kept only for a limited time for quality and dispute handling, then deleted automatically.
  • AI voice assistant. Some support services may use an AI voice assistant to answer calls before connecting you with a support specialist. When this feature is enabled, your voice and conversation are processed in real time by a third-party voice processing provider. The provider does not store call audio; text transcripts are stored by the provider only temporarily for a limited period and then deleted automatically. When connecting your call, the assistant passes a short summary of your request to the specialist, which is stored with the call record. You may ask to be connected with a support specialist at any time.
  • Photos you choose to send during a session are kept only temporarily. Screen or camera sharing is live only and is not recorded.
  • Our staff will never ask for your passwords or one-time codes. Do not share them.

Browsing and content features

Where our Services include browsing features, your history, bookmarks, cookies, settings and downloads stay on your device, and private browsing data is cleared when you close all private tabs. Text you choose to search, translate or have suggested is sent to the services that provide those results, and websites you visit receive data as with any browser. Page icons (favicons) in bookmarks and search results are fetched directly from the page itself; if the page has none, the page's domain may be sent to a public icon service to retrieve one. These features do not require an account. Some media features, such as automatically translating and dubbing speech in videos, process audio on your device; only the text of the speech or captions is sent for translation, and no recordings or subtitles are kept. These features may be on by default and can be turned off in settings; while they are on, the language and speech models they need may be downloaded to your device after installation or an update.

Purchases, subscriptions and credits

  • In-app purchases are processed by Google Play or the App Store. We receive transaction details such as plan, status, trial and expiry, but not your name, email or card details.
  • Web purchases and credit top-ups are processed by our payment partners (such as PayPal). We share only what is needed to create the payment, such as the amount and an order reference, and keep purchase status and transaction records. Card details are handled by the partner; RANA never receives or stores your card number.
  • We keep credit balances and their history, and the details needed to verify any prepaid card top-up.

Support requests and feedback

The messages you send, files you choose to attach, your email if you ask us to reply, and technical details that help us solve the problem. Apps only see the files you pick; they do not read your photo library.

App permissions

Apps ask only for the permissions their features need, such as location, notifications, alarms and reminders, full-screen alerts, microphone, camera, screen sharing and background operation. Each permission is used only for the feature you use, and you can revoke it in your device settings at any time.

We do not collect your contacts, messages, photo library or files beyond what you choose to share, and we do not use advertising identifiers.

3. Why we use data

  • To provide, maintain and improve the features you use.
  • To provide support and resolve problems.
  • To process purchases, trials, renewals, refunds and credit balances.
  • To send service emails about your account and transactions, such as receipts, refunds, security alerts and reminders before a plan expires.
  • To keep the Services secure and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised data extraction.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

Legal bases (EU, UK, Switzerland): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; performing the service you request; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Services, where not overridden by your rights; and legal obligations.

4. Who we share data with

  • Service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions, such as hosting, storage, communication and mapping providers.
  • Payment partners and app stores, to process purchases.
  • Content and data sources your device contacts directly when you use certain features. Like any website you connect to, they receive your IP address and handle it under their own policies.
  • Our support staff, to help you.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Our providers operate in several countries, so your data may be processed outside your country. Data is encrypted in transit and processed only to provide the Services.

6. How long we keep data

  • On-device data: until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Call recordings: for a limited time, then deleted automatically. Temporary session photos: until the session ends.
  • AI voice assistant text transcripts: stored temporarily by the provider for a limited period, then deleted automatically.
  • Device and usage information: while you use the app or until you ask for deletion, with usage history kept for a limited time.
  • Feedback and support requests: only as long as needed to handle your request and improve the Services; attachments may be deleted sooner.
  • Purchase and transaction records: as long as accounting and tax law require.
  • Other data: only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as the law requires.

7. Your rights and deleting data

Depending on where you live, you can ask to know what we hold, access it or receive a copy, correct or delete it, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

  • Some apps offer a Delete data option in their settings or on their website; requests are processed within 30 days.
  • You can also email [email protected] with the user ID shown in the app.
  • For your RANA Account, see the RANA Account privacy policy.

We may keep limited data where needed to keep a plan or a ban in place, or where the law requires. Uninstalling an app does not delete data on our servers, and deleting data does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it in the store.

8. Regional notes

EU, UK and Switzerland: you may complain to your local supervisory authority. United States: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we use precise location only to provide the feature you request. Other countries: if your local law gives you additional rights, we will respect them.

9. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and other technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to each feature. No system is completely secure; if an incident affects your data, we will notify you as required by law.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our Services evolve or the law changes; the date above shows the current version, and we announce significant changes in advance. This policy is published in several languages; if they differ, the English version applies. Questions: [email protected].
